Our standard service and calculator cover VHS tapes. If you have VHS-C, another format, or a mixed box, email a description or photo before arranging drop-off so we can confirm what we can accept.
Each VHS tape starts at $20, or $18 per tape for orders of 5 or more. That includes up to 2 recorded hours on each tape. Every additional started hour costs $8 per tape. For example, a tape with 2 hours 10 minutes of recordings has one additional hour charge. The calculator applies your average length to every tape; the final price uses each tape's actual recording length.
Choose “I'm not sure” for recording length. We'll show the base estimate, with extra recording time still to be determined. We check the tapes and confirm pricing with you before work begins.
Yes. Your original tapes are returned along with your digitized memories. Keep them stored safely even after you have saved your digital files.
A private download of your digital MP4 files is included. You can add a USB copy for $15 per order. Download and back up your files after delivery; we will communicate the download availability period with your order.
Damaged tapes, playback problems, and visible or suspected mold need a separate assessment before acceptance. Email us first. We can't promise repair or recovery. Digitizing preserves the available recording; it doesn't turn VHS footage into newly filmed HD video.
Local drop-off and pickup are by appointment in Lewiston, Maine. We also accept US mail-in orders. You arrange and pay inbound shipping. Return shipping and packing materials are charged at cost, with no markup or handling fee. We confirm the actual amount before sending your tapes back. The estimator includes rough contiguous-US return postage and packing ranges: $10–$25 for 1–5 standard VHS tapes, $12–$30 for 6–10, and $15–$45 for 11–20. These are not guaranteed maximums; actual cost depends on packed weight, box size, and destination. If suitable packing materials can be reused, you pay only for any new materials needed. Alaska, Hawaii, US territories, oversized shipments, and larger collections are quoted separately. Email us to confirm the mailing address and availability before sending tapes. We discuss expected timing before work begins; timing depends on tape count, recording length, and condition.
